My Target Themed Birthday

I've always loved Target. Ever since I was a little girl and my Mom would take me and call it "Tar-jay". I thought it was so fancy and had everything - especially when they came out with Super Targets. IYKYK.

So, when my oldest (6) asked what kind of birthday theme I wanted this year, she answered her own questions by enthusiastically declaring I should have a Target themed party. My eyes lit up and I immediately agreed.

The more I thought about the party the ideas kept coming. If I was going to do this, I was going to DO this.

For starters, a red t-shirt and khaki's were a must for those coming. When I sent the invite out, I had friends who texted, "really?". Yes, really, trust me, I'll be fun.

I didn't own a red shirt or khakis myself, but I found both on Amazon. I was really surprised by the khaki's - they are REALLY comfortable and come in lots of colors!

Speaking of invatations, thankfully I am not the only one who has done a Target themed party because Etsy had plenty of invitation templates. This is the one I choose.

When it comes to parties (or anything really), I am very big about details. It's the tiny things that really help create the full feeling of a theme.

(Much like in my sessions with clients, it's the tiny details that I love to capture that help tell your full story)

I wanted it to feel like you walked into Target so I got some large Styrofoam balls and spray painted them red and put them in the front yard.

As you walk up you're welcomed by a 'Welcome to Target' sign. Thank you Canva and my home laminator :)

Name tag stickers were front and center as you walk in, I mean clock in for your shift.

For decor I found all of this on Amazon or Target. Links on the pictures.

The kitchen was set up with snacks and sweets. Always thankful for how the Cheese Board taught us how to set up a pretty charcuterie board. And of course there was a popcorn station. Spot made a special appearance too! I didn't know these stuffies even existed- but they do and he completes the Target vibe.

I set up a photo area where everyone could take their own awkward employee of the month photo/Target photo-op. I created the props on Canvas, printed and laminated. Stuck on with hot glue to kabob sticks.

On to the games. Yes, there are games. A month ago, I built my kids a mini Target and Dutch Brothers for their playroom so I borrowed their shopping carts for this one.

There are teams, divide them how you want. Think about balancing an egg on a spoon - but it's a cup full of water (or whatever beverage you want) in the basket and race across the lawn.

Where are my Price is Right fans? This one is for you! Guess the price. There are 5 items line up. Everyone has a piece of paper and writes their price for each item. Set a timer so people don't have too long to think about it. Whoever gets the closest to the actual price (pre tax) wins that item.

The final game I had was items from the party favor section of Target and the Dollar Spot all in a bucket, I picked 4 items that needed to be sorted out. Whoever did it the fastest won a bottle of wine.

Finally, the party favors. Starting with custom sugar cookies! I have an amazing photography client who makes these on the side and she came out of cookie retirement for these! I found these Target doozies on Target's Bullseye website. I put the cookies inside and added their receipt for the night.

This Target themed birthday party was so fun to create and a huge shootout to one of my best friends, Savannah Collins who gifted a Target photo session and documented all the details!
