November Book Recommendation

I’ve never been a huge reader. It was not until after college that I read for my own enjoyment. I know, I missed out on a lot, but I also found out this was very common. You’re told to read all of these books for so long and then when you enter the ‘real world’ and have the time, there’s no time at all.
So I’ve been trying to step up my game and read more, making the time to read. I know we are all really busy, but we make time for everything else, why not make the time for a good book? Even if it’s just 20 minutes before bed every night or while the kiddos nap or you save it for your daily bathroom visits, make the time.
The most recent book I’ve read had me particularly hooked.

The book is The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing by Marie Kondo.
I won’t give it all away because then you won’t read the book, but the overall goal of the book is tidying your home so it is only full of the things that bring you joy.
What a simple and wonderful concept?! When you come home you should feel relaxed, happy, and at peace. I cannot count the number of times I’ve come home and feel like my honey-to-do-list is multiple pages long and it’s all tidying.
This book has truly impacted me and changed my life. Everything in our home has it own ‘home’ now. Everything in our home brings us joy. It took us one day; 20 bags worth of clothes, books, games, movies, blankets, and knick-knacks and by the end of the day we plopped on the couch and took the biggest sigh of relieve and happiness. We never realized we were surrounded by so many things that didn’t bring us joy.
So without giving more away, grab a copy of this book and I promise you won’t be sorry!
